Lance started Kartzone back in 2009, wanting to help others who share his passion for Karting. Coming from an extensive Motorsport background, he brings a wealth of knowledge that anyone of any skill level can benefit from.
Growing up in the hot rod scene, the Automotive bug bit hard from an early age. Spending his childhood on a Motorcross bike, life lead him to change from 2 wheels to 4. His Father (Rosco) was heavily involved in the world of NZV8's at the time, and Lance took the opportunity he had to get involved as well. Helping the team in every way he could and learning the ropes, he became a full time employee for Tracer Motorsport.
His position with Tracer gave him the opportunity to mix with some of the industries best; Paul Pedersen, John Mcintyre, Paul Radisich, Campbell Little and Paul Grimm to name a few. Learning not only about the cars, but also the skills needed for coaching and developing of a team to be truely competitive in all aspects of Motorsport. Sharing with him the pholosophy of "You never stop learning".
Somehow he also managed to fit in a Degree in Accounting and Marketing, and continue his own career in Karting, as well as help out family racing too.
In 2009, life once again went in another direction. This allowed him to focus his own Karting, and in turn start the creation of what we now know as Kartzone, New Zealands home of Formula K Kart.
In his own words;
"It was born from a passion for karting and a passion for the technical and mechanical side of the sport. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy the driving side of KartSport, with many years of driving experience. But more the enjoyment of giving a driver the tools, both physically and mentally to enable them to enjoy the sport, no matter the level they choose to compete. Karting is a challenge and an ongoing learning process but has so many rewards when you see a driver or family you have been involved with achieving goals they have set or just enjoying the sport"
Kartzone has turned into one of the most respected Karting companies around, with many people looking to Lance for his help and guidance.
